Every have the urge to just bust out some sweet lyrics like i do.  Well Audacity will let you record your sweet lyrics as well as edit them. It’s a simple program that doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles but it does what it’s suppose to and does it well.  Weather that’s editing Ogg Vorbis, MP3, WAV or AIFF sound files or perhaps changing the speed or pitch of a recording. The best news it’s available for all major operating systems.

Let’s face it you can never have enough clip art for all those awesome projects you put together for school or perhaps for a work presentation. Open Clip Art Library has well over 10,000 pieces of clip art that has been submitted by users. This project aims to create an archive of user contributed clip art that can be freely used. Also i did get this cow picture from the Open Clip Art Library.  So pretty much the site rocks.

Today we have another great program for all those mac users out there. NameChanger is a very straightforward and simple tool that will help you rename batches of files without the hassle of Automator or Photoshop batch change.

Looking for an easy to use ftp program for mac that also has a simple to use interface. Well look no further Cyberduck is here to the rescue.  The outline view of the browser allows to browse large folder structures efficiently and you can quickly preview files with Quick Look. To edit files, a seamless integration with several external editors makes it easy to change content quickly.

Also did i mention that it’s called Cyberduck because that should be enough for you to check it out.

Global TV just launched a new site called “TV Classics”. Which is good news for us Canadians who are starved for free online TV.  Right now they are featuring 12 classic TV shows.  Choose from Dawson’s Creek, Married With Children, Who’s The Boss, Silver Spoons and others.  They also have a request an episode feature. I’m so requesting the episode of Dawson’s Creek where there is that awkward tension between Dawson and Joey…….wait that’s every episode.

Today we have another free program. I know that’s all we talk about on this blog but guess what. Free equals awesomeness so let’s get to it.  Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics. You will need OS X 10.4 or later and Apple’s X11 windowing environment to run it. Download it and give it a go.
